I’ll always have something good to say about Safety Check (Lightspeed Alert). And it’s a 5th grader, having a 5th grade issue, but as a result of the 5th grade issue, they decided they want to end their life.

I’m like “Lord, it’s 12-something on a Sunday morning, ok, here we go.” We get the principal up, the principal contacts the parents, and the parents get the kid to mental health services the next morning.

Well, and, I’ve heard from a lot of schools that it’s kind of on the rising, right: kids are isolated, those interactions that teachers, principals, counselors, you – whomever might have had walking the halls, are gone. And this is the only way you can spot those kids in crisis.

Yes. I cannot express how grateful I was that we made the decision to go with Lightspeed for both the filtering, on top of what we have in the district. Because if we didn’t, and if we didn’t have anything, they’re just wild and free out in the world.

I mean, it’s pretty easy just on video, right, you could pretend to be working, but really you’re on your phone.

And they’re like, “No, Christina, I see that you’re on” You know that Classroom (Management) thing? It works at home too. And they’re like “Nah!” – because they know about it at school, but they (the students) don’t think it works at home. So, um, that really, I got lots of compliments via email from teachers saying “Thank you for this Classroom (Management) thing, it has saved my life.”

We’ve learned a lot. And now we’re going to take what we’ve learned, and we’re going to correct the course, and keep going.
